Terms of use

1. What Elodie is

Elodie is a shared diary for a family's children, used by the adults who care for them. It records and plans. It does not give medical advice, and it never suggests, calculates or refuses a dose of any medicine. Follow the packaging and ask a pharmacist or GP if unsure.

2. Your account and household

You must be 18 or over. A parent creates a household and invites others. Each member is responsible for what they add. Parents are responsible for the accuracy of the emergency card and for telling emergency contacts that their details are stored.

3. The household licence

Elodie is free for the first 30 days after a household is created. After that a household licence is required, bought by a parent through the App Store or Google Play. The plans are monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. One licence covers every member of that household. Prices are shown in the store before you buy. The store charges your account at purchase and at each renewal. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your store account settings. Refunds are handled by the store.

If the licence ends, the app becomes read only. Nothing is deleted. You can export at any time.

4. Your content

You own what you add. You give us the right to store and display it to your household so the service works. We do not use it for anything else.

5. Acceptable use

Do not add content about people without a reason to, do not add anyone to a household without their agreement, and do not use Elodie to monitor an employee beyond what the app itself shows. We may remove content or close accounts that break these terms.

6. Availability

We will tell you about planned downtime. We do not promise Elodie will never be unavailable. Keep the emergency card printed if you rely on it.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the previous 12 months.

8. Ending

You can delete your account or the household at any time from House. Deleting does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that in your store account. We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, and at once if you break them.

9. Changes and law

We will tell you in the app before these terms change in a way that matters. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

10. Apple App Store: additional terms

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Elodie or its content. The licence to use Elodie on Apple devices is limited to devices you own or control, under the App Store terms. We, not Apple, provide maintenance and support. If Elodie fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, address any claims relating to Elodie, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection. We, not Apple, handle any third-party claim that Elodie infringes intellectual property. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Elodie, such as your mobile data agreement. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo and not on any US restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement governs your licence to the copy of the app on your Apple device: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. These terms govern the Elodie service.
